Stoney Point & Brinlee Decoration Day is held on Saturday before the first Sunday in May of each year. It is a special time for family and friends to get together for fellowship and to honor those buried in these cemeteries.
Tradition is that the event began in the years following the Civil War to honor the Civil War dead by decorating their graves. Over time, the event evolved to be a homecoming and time to remember all - not just veterans.
