Rules and Information
Stoney Point Brinlee Cemetery Association (SPBCA) reserves the right to change or amend these “Rules and Regulations” from time to time for the general purpose of all lot Internment Certificate Holders.
- Attached to the Internment Certificate of all lots will be a clause, “Subject to the Rules and Regulations of the SPBCA.
- Each lot Internment Certificate Holder shall notify SPBCA of any change of his/her address.
- Lots are sold for the use of the family, relatives, and their descendants unless special permission is obtained.
- The internment of two bodies in one grave is limited to parent and infant child, twins, or other multiple births.
- No internment of a body other than human will be permitted.
- No more than two ash burials shall be permitted on one lot or not more than one casket and one ash burial on one lot.
- All casket burials will have an Outer Burial Container. The material may be metal or concrete.
- No mausoleums or columbarium.
- Only one upright stone per grave is permitted. Footstones will not be permitted except for a flat marker of granite or bronze that will allow a mower to pass over. If there is more than one burial on a single grave, the additional marker will be a flat stone.
- A permanent marker shall be placed within one year of internment.
- SPBCA is responsible for marking the exact location for a grave marker, stone, or monument that will be placed.
- No sale, transfer, or assignment of any lot, or part of a lot shall be valid or recognized by SPBCA without its consent.
- Upon the death of the Internment Certificate Holder, his/her heirs according with the State of Texas Law is recognized as the new owner. It is the responsibility of the heirs to file for ownership at this time.
- No disinterment will be allowed without the permission of SPBCA.
- All grave openings must be done by an approved contractor of the cemetery.
- SPBCA is responsible for marking a gravesite for burial.
- In making excavations for a burial the Cemetery reserves the right to use temporarily the adjoining lots or graves to perform all work.
- SPBCA has the right to forbid or remove any structure or object they shall deem objectionable.
- Flowerbeds are permitted in front of the marker 12” deep and the width of the marker. At the discretion of the Cemetery, any unsightly flowerbeds will be mowed.
- No trees or scrubs.
- No benches unless it is a monument marker.
- No alcoholic beverages on the premises.
- No firearms on the premises.
- The Cemetery reserves the right to remove any artifacts from the grave, i.e. artificial flowers, stuffed animals, ribbons, bows, dead plantings, statues, decorative flags, solar lights which are determined to be unsightly or faded and present a detriment to the natural beauty of the cemetery. The cemetery reserves the right to use their discretion to make this determination.
- In no way shall the Cemetery assure responsibility for any type of adornment.
- At the discretion of the Cemetery any worn, faded or tattered flags will be removed and burned.
- No enclosures of any type are permitted, including fencing, hedging, borders, and concrete curbs around lots or plots.
- The size of the stone, marker, or monument on a single lot not to exceed four (4’) feet wide.
- No gravel, brick, stone, carpet, or cement of any kind of artificial walk will be permitted.
- No signs indicating a lot for sale or advertisement will be permitted.
- The Stoney Point Brinlee Cemetery Association will make every reasonable effort to protect all private property on lots in the cemetery from loss or damage, but it distinctly disclaims all responsibility beyond reasonable control, and from the act of thieves, vandals, or mischief makers as well as acts of God.
